What is an Expanded Functions Dental Assistant (EFDA)?

An EFDA is a dental assistant who has additional training and certification to perform advanced dental procedures. This may include taking impressions, fabricating temporary crowns, and polishing teeth.

What does the EFDA training program entail?

Our EFDA training program is comprehensive and covers a wide range of topics. You will learn about dental anatomy, procedures, terminology, and infection control. How long does it take to complete the program?

Am I able to enroll in the program if I’m still in high school?

A high school senior (of at least 17 years of age) may take our course on the condition that he/she has a written document from their High School Guidance Counselor and Parent/Legal Guardian stating that the student is on track to graduate and is in the position to take on additional schoolwork.
